Good morning CSA members!

Today is the first delivery of the season and we are excited to begin!  Looks like we may have a bit of rain in some areas so be prepared today, just in case.

Our first harvest is kind of light, but we did not want to delay another week so realize that mid summer harvests in your shares will more than make up for the lighter harvest this week. We hope you will enjoy and use everything in your share.  It’s a miracle that something started from a small seed brings forth wonderful food to nourish our body and our soul.

Please follow the CSA Guidelines about what to do at your pick up sites this week. If in doubt, follow the leader!  Let us know if you did NOT receive your email from us last week containing your CSA Guidelines.  You really do need to read them, they will help you this season. Check your junk mail file before alerting us.

“What’s in the Box”. Some, but not all of the following will be in your share this week: Collard Greens, Broccoli, Cabbage, Green Onions, Lettuce, Strawberries.  Use most perishable items first, such as Strawberries, then Broccoli, Lettuce, Green Onions and Collards, then Cabbage. Cabbage holds over well, just trim the outer leaves if needed.

Here are two links to recipes for using your collard greens! Tip: I always had a little brown sugar to taste in mine (not white sugar).

Please verify your pick up day, time and the procedure for picking up your share once you arrive at the pick up location.  Procedure can be found at your location on the pickup locations page on this website.
