The Autumn Leaves

The Autumn Leaves

Good afternoon,

We send you greetings from the farm on this breezy autumn day!  This week is supposed to offer up some pretty weather, so be sure to find the time to get outside and enjoy it.  Maybe plan on eating one of your meals outdoors while the weather is nice.

Many of you will remember one of our Drivers here at the farm by the name of Randy Mize.  Randy passed away of Covid19 on Friday after a brief battle with the virus.  Randy delivered shares for us for 4 years before leaving to take a full time job.  He will be missed by friends and family.

Tonight or tomorrow, I will send out an email to everyone that has a Credit coming to them, with the amount.  You can use your credit to purchase a bulk vegetable from the online store or apply your credit toward the purchase of a 2021 Spring-Summer CSA share. All credit must be used by January 31.

The 2021 CSA shares will go on sale on our website in early December.  Watch our website for the date registration opens.

After this week’s delivery, there will only be one more delivery left this season.  CSA ends for the year on Oct.30.

This week’s apple variety in your shares are Cameo’s. They are delicious.  The Recipe of the week calls for using 2 or 3 specific varieties, but the Cameo’s should work well also.  Just use what’s on hand – the recipe is quick, easy and good!

Here is the link to your recipe of the week:  “One Bowl Apple Cake”

The Combo Shares end this week.

Note:  If you have ordered or if you plan to order Bulk Sweet Potatoes, they will be delivered next week with your last CSA delivery.

We always welcome feedback that you have about the seasons CSA.  In making decisions about next season’s CSA, we try if it is doable for us, to incorporate your suggestions into the next season of CSA.  Any ideas that you have that will make CSA more enjoyable for everyone, are always very welcome.  Just jot down your thoughts and send us an email.

Today, Oct. 19 is: National Kentucky Day – National LGBT Center Awareness Day – National Clean Out Your Virtual Desk Day, and Dress Like a Dork Day!

What’s in my share this week?  Cabbage, Green Beans, Spaghetti Squash, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Apples and Sweet Potatoes.  (Some shares will vary dependent on the harvest quantities available)

Until next week, stay well and keep masking up friends,
